#CMT# #/CMT# An organic material content of alkaline washing water produced during manufacture of dinitro toluene is reduced by extraction method using mononitro toluene as extracting agent at specific pH value and temperature. The dinitro toluene is redirected to nitration process. The aqueous phase is subjected to steam distillation and quantity of wastewater containing organic material is reduced to minimum. The quantity of chemicals required for further treatment of wastewater is reduced and processed water is discharged at desired temperature. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For treating wastewater produced in manufacture of dinitro toluene.
