PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized brush device suppressed in the rattling of a brush. SOLUTION: The brush device 9 comprises: the brush 12 that slide-contacts with the slide-contact surface 10 of a commutator 7; an energizing member 13 that energizes the brush 12; and a holder 14 that holds the brush 12 in a state that the brush 12 is freely movable, and the energizing member 13. The brush 12 includes an electrode surface 15 that slide-contacts with the slide-contact surface 10 of the commutator 7, and an inclined surface 16 inclined to the electrode surface 15. The holder 14 is formed into a box shape, and includes an inclined surface 22 along the inclined surface 16 of the brush 12. A wedge-shaped space 27 for holding the brush 12 is formed between the slide-contact surface 10 of the commutator 7 and the inclined surface 22 of the holder 14. The energizing member 13 energizes the brush 12 toward the narrower side of the wedge-shaped space 27 in parallel with the electrode surface 15.
