PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller which can continue a control process even when an abnormality of an interruption cycle shift occurs, and can perform the control process at an accurate control cycle. SOLUTION: A first timer 21 counts time equivalent to a given control cycle and gives an interruption signal to a CPU 30. The CPU 30 executes a control process for controlling an electric motor according to a steering torque and a vehicle speed when receiving the interruption signal. A second timer 22 checks time equivalent to an abnormality judging cycle longer than the control cycle. An interruption cycle judging means 38 judges on whether an interruption occurrence cycle given by the first timer 21 matches the control cycle. When the interruption cycle judging means 38 judges that the interruption occurrence cycle does not match the control cycle, a time count correction unit 36 corrects time count start timing of the first timer 21 according to a deviation between the interruption occurrence cycle and the control cycle.
