<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "video system" to reproduce a DVD-Video disc at a parental level according to a user of a monitor. <P>SOLUTION: A control portion 11 sets the parental level a in a DVD-Video reproducing apparatus 8 if the DVD-Video reproducing apparatus 8 is selected by the user only as an apparatus to output an image to a front monitor 2. The parental level b (a>b) is set in the DVD-Video reproducing apparatus 8 if the DVD-Video reproducing apparatus 8 is selected by the user only as the apparatus to output the image only to a rear monitor 3 or to both the rear monitor 3 and the front monitor 2.
