PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of a thermal-insulating means for hot-die type forging press. SOLUTION: Regarding the hot-die type forging press with an operating temperature above a temperature T, this forging press comprises two dies 7, 8 between two die supporting elements 4, 5 and the thermal-insulating means 6, 6' are placed between each die 7, 8 and the respective supporting element 4, 5. In the press, the above thermal-insulating means 6, 6' comprise at least two superposed layers A, B, and a first layer A contains a first material having mechanical and thermal properties suitable for operating at a temperature exceeding the temperature T, and a second layer B contains a second material having mechanical and thermal properties suitable for operating at a temperature below the temperature T, and the thermal conductivity of the second material is lower than the thermal conductivity of the first material and also, is almost equaled to 0.2 W/(m×K) with a tolerance of 10%. Thus, the thermal insulating means having thin thickness can be effectively obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
