<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a molded product, especially, a contact lens, to provide the molded product obtained by the method, to provide the contact lens, and to provide a prepolymer used in the new method. <P>SOLUTION: This prepolymer comprises a soluble polyvinyl alcohol derivative which has a molecular weight of at least about 2,000 and contains a crosslinkable group-containing unit and at least one kind of a modifying group-containing unit. A crosslinked polymer, a homopolymer, or a copolymer is prepared from the new prepolymer. Further, a method for producing the new prepolymer, a method for producing the homopolymer and the copolymer from the prepolymer, the molded product produced from the homopolymer or the copolymer, and the contact lens given by using the homopolymer or the copolymer are provided, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
