PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable portable radio unit capable of securing high antenna performance under telephone conversation status. SOLUTION: A conductive metal frame 12 mounted in an upper cabinet 1, and an axial unit 33 fixed in a lower cabinet 2, are connected pivotally to connect them electrically. The axial unit 33 arranged at one end of the widthwise direction of the cabinet, and a matching circuit 22A on a circuit substrate 22 arranged at the other end of the same direction, are electrically connected through a sheet metal 4 arranged, so that at least one part thereof becomes parallel to the widthwise direction of the cabinet.
