<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle detecting system capable of determining efficiently a target parameter to enhance an operation speed, and capable of minimizing a calculation expense to reduce RF discharge. <P>SOLUTION: This method of determining the target parameter of an object includes (a) a process for determining a target range from a series of shooting ranges, (b) a process for dwelling in the target range at an initial dwell time to obtain a sensor data, (c) a process for determining that the sensor data corresponds to the presence of the object in the target range or corresponds to the absence of the object, based on a probability density distribution as to the presence or absence of the object in the target range, a process for repeating the process (b) and the process (c) until allowing the determination, when not determined, (d) a process for dwelling in the target range at an extension dwell time when the sensor data corresponds to the presence of the object determined in the process (c) to obtain an additional sensor data for determining the target parameter of the object before advancing to a process (e), and (e) the process for determining a series of the next shooting ranges as the target range, before repeating the process (b)-the process(e). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
