<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device for a liquid crystal display device, with which solder usage is reduced and breakage of a cathode tube terminal is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight unit 1 (the backlight device for the liquid crystal display device) is further equipped with a terminal member 50 being attached to a cable line 20 and composed of a metal plate material including an insertion hole 50a into which a terminal 11 of the cold-cathode tube 10 is inserted. Also the outside shape of the terminal member 50 is formed so as to have a round shape. Furthermore, the terminal member 50 is attached to the cable line 20 in such a way that a direction of extension of the cold-cathode tube 10 (a direction of an arrow C in Figure 3 (not shown)) is substantially vertical to a direction of extension of the cable line 20 (a direction of an arrow D in Figure 3). Also the terminal 11 of the cold-cathode tube 10 is soldered to the insertion hole 50a of the terminal member 50 in a state of being inserted therein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
