CONNECTOR EQUIPPED WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE SHIELDING MEANS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector not only for shielding electromagnetic wave interference from outside to inside of the connector but also for shielding even electromagnetic waves generated from signal transmitting pins inside the connector to be discharged or flowing among the pins in transmission of a large capacity of signals at a high frequency.

SOLUTION: Shielding means 130 has a connection member 131 to connect a number of shielding projections 131 with one another. The shielding projections 131 and the connection members 131 are earthed when they are finally assembled. The shielding projections 131 and connection members 131 are made of conductive material such as silver and copper so as to be excellent in electromagnetic wave shielding capability. The shielding projections 131 are inserted to shielding projection resting holes 113 disposed at an insulating blocks 110 to be interposed between signal transmitting pins 120a. External shell made of electromagnetic shielding material are composed of a pair of external shells 133, 133' so as to correspond to the shielding projections 131 to block flowing the external electromagnetic waves inside a socket connector.
