PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which artificially forms an image the same as that to be obtained when a wide angle lens is used, by compounding a plurality of picked up images. SOLUTION: This digital camera includes an imaging portion, a display for displaying this image, a wide angle image formation means for forming a wide angle image, by using a plurality of images obtained as a result of image pick-up by an imaging means by depression of a shutter release by a user of the digital camera and compounding these, and a directing means for its execution. After execution by the wide-angle image formation means is directed, an image to be picked up is displayed in real time on the display, along with thinly displaying a part or parts of one or more images picked up by the imaging portion as a guide image for images to be picked up from next time on the display 2. By doing this way, a user can perform image pick-up by adjusting an image to the guide image, and alignment for the next image becomes easy.
