PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunction device, a network storage server, and a scanning storage system capable of alleviating troublesomeness, such as setting of parameters of a data format by a user for each directory to be transmitted, by making the device designate data format and resolution, from a storage server. SOLUTION: The multifunction device, having a reading means for reading image data by set reading parameters and capable of utilizing scanner service using XML/SOAP technique, is equipped with a means for connecting to the storage server, a means for changing reading parameters in accordance with a connection response received from the storage server, a means for reading an image by reading parameters changed by the change means, and a means for transmitting the read image to the storage server.
