<p>Disclosed is athletic footwear with an air bag installed to an instep cover that is provided at a front portion of the footwear, by which the instep cover is expanded at proper presure to provide an instep of a wearer with a cushion and prevent the footwear from easily coming off even though the footwear is not fastened with straps. The athletic footwear includes an instep cover 12 for protecting an instep of a wearer. Also, the footwear includes an airbag 14 including an air storing tube 16 for storing a ceratin amount of an air, an air pump 22 connected to the air storing tube 16 through an air supplying tube 20 and pumping the air to the air storing tube 16 through an air intake valve 26, and a check valve 38 installed to an outlet hole 36 of the air pump 22 for supplying the air in one direction. The check valve 38 includes cylindrical pipe 40 connected to the outlet hole 36 of the air pump 22, a rim 41 formed at an inner periphery pipe 40 of the cylindrical pipe 40 and having an air passing hole 42 at a center of a rim. a switching plate 44 contacting with the rim 41 and resiliently deflected by pneumatic pressure of an air supplied through the air passing hole 42 to selectively open or close the air passing hole 42, a pressing member 48 inserted into the cylindrical pipe 40 and pressing a rod 46 extended from a side of the switching plate 44 to increase a sealing force between the switching plate 44 and the air passing hole 42 and thereby prevent backflow of the air, and a passage 50 formed at upper and lower ends of the pressing member 48.</p> |
