<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power backup device capable of improving charging characteristics of a secondary battery without being affected by a temperature environment of surroundings. <P>SOLUTION: When a step-up and step-down part 32 carries out charging to a lithium ion secondary battery 22 by utilizing power from a power supply circuit 1, the heat from a power MOSFET 67 installed in the step-up and step-down part 32 is transmitted to a lithium ion secondary battery 22 through a heat conductor 81. Thereby, even if the power MOSFET 67 and the lithium ion secondary battery 22 are at locations separated away, the lithium ion secondary battery 22 is warmed at charging and the discharge time can be extended. Furthermore, the heat from the power MOSFET 67 constituting the step-up and step-down part 32, which is originally not necessary, can be utilized effectively in order to extend the charging time of the lithium ion secondary battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
