PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaner for cleaning metal parts which is free from problems against working circumference and safety, does not corrode or wound metal parts, and can easily remove a tough adherent substance (fastened substance), such as a baked oil substance and a resinified or carbonized substance, stuck on the surfaces of the metal parts by dipping or wiping. SOLUTION: The cleaner comprises substantially components (A)-(D) as follows: (A) 10-40 wt% of a water-soluble amine compound, (B) 10-30 wt% of benzyl alcohol, (C) 20-60 wt% of a water-soluble organic solvent represented by formula (1), and (D) 10-40 wt% of an aqueous weak alkaline solution having a pH of 7.1-11.0. In the formula, R is the residual group of a 1C-22C aliphatic alcohol, and m and n are each 0 or an integer of 1-15, provided that m+n is an integer of 1 or more and 20 or less.
