<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiphoton recording method by which photoisomerization in a recording medium rapidly progresses and effective sensitivity increase of a recording material is made possible and to provide a multilayer optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The multiphoton recording method has a preheating step for heating at least part of the recording medium before the recording medium is irradiated with recording light. Writing is made easy (made highly sensitive) even when a light source having a low peak power is used by performing the preheating step before writing and read-out resistance and shelf characteristics can be secured by performing read-out and preservation at normal temperature. A recording threshold is decreased and miniaturization and cost reduction of a multiphoton recording and reproducing apparatus are made possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
