<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery using a vegetable raw material, enhancing the initial charge discharge capacity and charge discharge efficiency, and also to provide the manufacturing method of the negative electrode material for the lithium secondary battery, and the lithium secondary battery using the negative electrode material. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode material for the lithium secondary battery comprises: a carbon material containing at least one kind of oxide of phosphorus, alkali metal, alkali-earth metal, aluminum, and silicon, the carbon material is prepared by carbonizing coffee bean strained lees, and has: amorphus-like broad X-ray diffraction pattern between 10-50 degrees of 2θ diffraction angle; and a crystalline peak X-ray diffraction pattern in which each half band width between 30-32 degrees and 40-42 degrees is 0.5 degrees or less, and preferably has an initial bulk density of 0.25 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more, a tap bulk density of 0.6 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more, a specific surface area of 1-5 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and an average particle size of 5-60 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
