<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed type battery which does not allow an electrolyte residue to remain on a weld-bonded surface near a sealing valve, and a method for manufacturing the sealed type battery. <P>SOLUTION: The sealed type battery makes a sealing valve 1 seal a battery can or an opening 3 formed on a lid 2 for sealing the opening of the battery can. The insertion side of the sealing valve is in a shape of a truncated cone tapering with an angle ϕ relative to the axis, the middle portion is in a shape of a cylinder, and the opposite side to the insertion side is in a shape having a slope like a cone. The opening 3 of a vent plug formed on the lid is in a shape of a circular ring of a thickness 20% or less of a thickness of the lid. As the middle portion of the sealing valve is inserted, the opening 3 of the vent plug formed on the lid is squeezed to turn toward the nearly orthogonal direction to the original position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
