<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer prevented from wasting a sheet by completing printing all even to the second surface of the sheet with its one surface being already printed that is on standby in a double-sided unit even when paper-out occurs in double-sided printing sequence. <P>SOLUTION: An engine control section 203 receives a paper-out detection signal in a state where a sheet in a cassette is exhausted. If a sheet with its first surface side being printed is on standby in the double-sided unit in such a case, a /TOP signal for a second surface of the sheet is outputted. Then, a controller section 201 is informed of the occurrence of misprinting caused by the paper-out. When completing the image formation of the second surface side of the sheet and completing the conveyance of the sheet to the outside of the image forming apparatus after the sheet passes through a fixed and ejected paper sensor 20, a sheet conveying condition status is set to a non-conveying condition to perform misprinting releasing sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
