<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor reader for easily and safely reading the print on an information recording medium with a fluorescent material for emitting fluorescence in a visible region upon reception of infrared light by using an infrared LED. <P>SOLUTION: This phosphor reader 1 reads a fluorescent image on the information recording medium 10 on which the information invisible under visible light is recorded with the fluorescent material for emitting visible light when irradiated with exciting light in an infrared region. The main part of the reader has a light shielding housing 3 for shielding extraneous light. A plurality of infrared light emitting diodes 4 are arranged around the line perpendicular to the irradiated surface of the information recording medium as the central axis, so that the fluorescent image on the information recording medium 10 which emits the light when irradiated with the infrared light emitting diodes can be visually read. When the infrared light emitting diodes are made to emit light intermittently, a high light emitting luminance can be obtained, and when a convex lens 5 is used, a magnified image can be obtained to facilitate visual recognition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
