PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated cemented carbide cutting tool inserts particularly useful for rough milling under dry condition. SOLUTION: The present invention discloses coated milling inserts particularly useful for milling grey cast iron with or without cast skin under dry conditions at preferably rather high cutting speeds and for milling nodular cast iron and compacted graphite iron with or without cast skin under dry conditions at rather high cutting speeds. This insert comprises WC-Co cemented carbide containing a low content of cubic carbide and a high content of W alloy bonding phase, and a coating layer containing TiCxNyinner layer having columnar crystal grain and a wet-blastedα-Al2O3layer.
