PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus designed such that an accumulation amount detection sensor, such as a magnetic sensor, can correctly detect, by a simple configuration without a cost increase, that an amount of magnetic developer recovered and accumulating in a recovery container has reached a prescribed level. SOLUTION: A recovery container support frame 80 accommodating and supporting the recovery container 40 is attached to the main body 1 of the image forming apparatus so as to be swingable around a shaft 81 at the bottom between the inclined position and the vertically upright position. The accumulation amount detecting sensor 70 is disposed on the main body 1 of the image forming apparatus so as to be opposite to the recovering container 40 accommodated in the recovery container support frame 80 when the detecting face of the sensor 70 is in the upright position.
