PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an infrared ray sensor from oily smoke and heat from a heating chamber by an inexpensive and positive means. SOLUTION: The high frequency heater comprises the heating chamber 22, a cooling fan 27, an inverter board 42, a print base plate 20 housing and holding the inverter board 42, the infrared ray sensor 26 detecting a temperature of an object to be heated, and a heat insulating plate 23. It is composed such that air of the cooling fan 27 is supplied to the infrared ray sensor 26 by using a space between the print base plate 20 and the heat insulating plate 23 as a passage, and the infrared ray sensor 26 can be protected from the heat and smudging due to the oily smoke from the heating chamber 22.
