摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorbent capable of more efficiently absorbing energy. SOLUTION: A roughly V-shape groove 12 is formed on an upper end surface whole circumference of a hollow energy absorbent 10. Sides composed of convex arc parts 16 and straight parts 18 connecting to the convex arc parts 16 are oppositely formed in the groove 12. The convex arc part 16 is composed of 1/8 circle and form a valley part 20 of the groove 12 by touching the opposite convex arc part 16 at a lower end of the groove 12. The straight part 18 is connected to an upper end of the convex arc part 16. The opposing two straight part 18 are inclined at 45 degrees toward a center part of the groove 12. The same extends to a cylindrical inner surface 22 or an outer surface 24 and forms a roughly triangular trigger part 14 between the inner surface 22 or the outer surface 24.
