<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize electric power consumption, when electrifying and removing a particle-like substance in exhaust gas, in an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device of the internal combustion engine has a particle-like substance collecting means arranged in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine and collecting a particle-like substance in the exhaust gas, a particle-like substance coagulating means for enlarging its particle size by coagulating the particle-like substance by electrifying the particle-like substance in the exhaust gas passing through the particle-like substance collecting means, and an exhaust temperature raising means (S106) for raising the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing in the particle-like substance coagulating means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
