PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-output surface light-emitting laser element reusing electrons and positive holes by arranging a tunnel junction between quantum wells. SOLUTION: In the laser element having an active layer where a plurality of quantum wells and barriers are laminated repeatedly, a tunnel junction is inserted into the barrier between the quantum wells.
