PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device provided with a liquid crystal panel, capable of displaying gradation display, in which each pixel is provided with a plurality of sub-pixels capable of video displaying with the image quality demanded and the resolution, corresponding to the image information to be displayed. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with the voltage supply means for supplying a voltage separately with prescribed voltage, in addition to the gradation voltage supplied from the source electrode to each of the plurality of sub-pixels in a unit pixel. A controller 4 controls the display of a liquid crystal display panel 8, by adjusting the voltage supplied from the voltage supply means to each sub-pixel, and switching the voltage to every prescribed numbers of the frames among the sub-pixels, corresponding to the results of information discriminated by an input signal discrimination part 2. The voltage supply means is provided, e.g. an auxiliary capacitance reference electrode connected to each sub-pixel in the auxiliary capacitance unit pixel in the liquid crystal display panel 8, and supplies the voltage read out of the ROM 6 by an auxiliary capacitance signal generating circuit 7 from each auxiliary capacitance reference electrode to each sub-pixel.
