摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MVA mode liquid crystal display device which substantially has a high opening ratio and is applicable to a notebook personal computer, and of which even the display quality, as seen from an inclined direction, is satisfactory. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is constructed with a TFT substrate and a counter substrate, arranged facing to each other and interposing a liquid crystal layer in between. Also in the liquid crystal layer, a polymer, which is formed by polymerizing a polymerization component added to a liquid crystal and determines the falling direction of liquid crystal molecules on voltage application, is formed. A sub-pixel electrode 121b, directly connected to a TFT 118 and sub-pixel electrodes 121a, 121c connected to the TFT 118 via capacity coupling, are formed on the TFT substrate. Slits 122, extending to 45°, 135°, 225°, or 315°direction with respect to the x-axis, are formed on these sub-pixel electrodes 121a-121c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
