PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device in which the noise generated in driving waveforms applied to scanning electrodes in an address period is reduced and the electrical damage to be exerted to elements of a plasma display panel can be prevented and its driving method. SOLUTION: The driving method for the plasma display device includes a stage of applying a falling waveform falling down to a first voltage to a number of scanning electrodes, a stage of applying a rising ramp waveform rising from the first voltage at a prescribed gradient up to a second voltage, and a stage of applying a scanning pulse falling from the second voltage down to a third voltage to the scanning electrodes.
