PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus less liable to cause image defects due to transfer, even when an image forming apparatus adopts slip transfer used in a tandem-type color printer, and capable of stably performing high-quality printing, regardless of the environmental variations. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a photoreceptor, with a surface on which a latent image is formed and made a toner image by sticking toner according to the latent image, a rotatable image transport member, and a transfer section for transferring the toner image from the photoreceptor to the image transport member, wherein the photoreceptor is a positive-charged photoreceptor and the work function of a surface of the image transport member is set to≤4.5 eV.
