ENDOTOXIN ACTIVITY INHIBITOR

A low-molecular endotoxin activity inhibitor which is a substance neutralizing the activity of LPS and inhibiting the LPS-induced adhesion of leukocytes to endothelial cells. It has high specificity for LPS and is lowly cytotoxic. It can be mass-produced in a high yield. It is applicable to clinical use. The endotoxin activity inhibitor is characterized by being either of a surfactin represented by the following general formula (1) and a derivative thereof. [Chemical formula 8] General formula (1) In the general formula (1), R<SUB>1</SUB> represents any one selected among L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine and R<SUB>2</SUB> represents C<SUB>8-22</SUB> alkyl.
