PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate the position of a cassette with simple constitution. SOLUTION: A positioning device positions the square plate-like or rectangular plate-like cassette 90. It is equipped with a stopper 41 extended in an up-and-down direction, a gripping body 47 provided to contact with/separate from the stopper 41 in a direction crossing with the up-and-down direction, and an elevating/lowering base 31 arranged movably in the up-and-down direction between the stopper 41 and the gripping body 47 and provided with a nearly horizontal upper surface. By making the gripping body 47 approach to the stopper 41 in the direction crossing with the up-and-down direction in a state where the cassette 90 is placed on the upper surface of the elevating/lowering base 31, the cassette 90 is held between the gripping body 47 and the stopper 41, whereby the position of the cassette 90 in a horizontal direction is fixed. By moving the elevating/lowering base 31 in the up-and-down direction in such a state, the position of the cassette 90 in the up-and-down direction is fixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
