<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample-and-hold pulse signal generating circuit which can flexibly change the positions and widths of the sampled pulses. <P>SOLUTION: This is a pulse signal generating circuit to output a plurality of S/H pulse signals from a plurality of output terminals out1-outn. It has unit circuits 1511 corresponding to the plurality of output terminals out1-outn and each unit circuit 1511 includes a 1st edge generating circuit 11A to generate a 1st signal having a 1st edge at the time point a fist period delayed from the beginning of the mark or space recording period, a 2nd edge generating circuit 11B to generate a 2nd signal having a 2nd edge at the time point when a 2nd time is added to the 1st edge or at the time point the 2nd time is subtracted from the end of the mark or space recording period, and a circuit 112 which inputs the 1st and 2nd signals and makes the 1st edge and the 2nd edge the leading and trailing edges, respectively.
