PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which uses a diamine having a dendron structure side chain, can adjust a pre-tilt angle from 1 to 90°, has improved stability, improved chemical resistance in washing processes, excellent orientation characteristics, excellent electrooptic properties, excellent printability and excellent processability, and is used for a liquid crystal alignment layer. SOLUTION: A new diamine compound having a dendron structure side chain, an aliphatic cyclic acid dianhydride, an aromatic cyclic acid dianhydride, and a selective aromatic cyclic diamine compound are copolymerized.
