<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying filter which is more excellent in heat resistance than a former filter and has a base material being possible to reduce the combustion elimination frequency of a particulate matter. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust gas purifying filter 1 having a honeycomb-like base material 2 is provided with an exhaust gas introducing passage 21; a porous partition 25; and an exhaust passage 22. The base material 2 has a main cell wall 251 where the porous partitions are arranged in a quadrangle lattice-shape; and a main cell 10 enclosed thereby. The downstream end of the main cell 110 serving as an introducing passage 21 and the upper stream end of the main cell 10 serving as a discharge passage 22 are blocked by a plug member 2. A sub cell wall 252 to divide the main cell 10 is formed in at least a part of the main cell 10. In case the thickness of the sub cell wall 252 is set to ts and the thickness of the main cell wall 251 to tm, a relation, 0.21<ts/tm<1.0, is satisfied, and the opening rate of the main cell 10 serving as an introducing passage 21 is at least 0.25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
