[Also in Division F2] A tilted axle castor is provided with a pivot, as at 26, brake arm 25 carried in the hollow, cup-like body 12 of the castor, the brake arm 25 being biased by a spring 28 to a position of braking engagement with the interval surface 14s of the partspherical trend of a cup-like castor wheel 14 but being movable by an externally operated arm 30 to a released position. The operating arm 30 carries a cam 33 which, on depression of the arm 30 from the braked position as shown, engages a camming surface 35 on a first limb 25E of the brake arm 25 to pivot the latter against the spring bias to a released position in which a second braking limb 25B of the arm 25 is spaced from the braking surface 14S. The body 12 is integrally formed with a castor pin socket 16 and carries an inclined axle 20 on which a bearing sleeve formed on the inside of the wheel 14 is rotatable. |
