PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the breakage of a glass panel by using a simple constitution, while hardly deteriorating beauty. SOLUTION: A system 12 for detecting the breakage of the glass panel is equipped with the glass panel 10, a reader 14, and a notification device 16. The glass panel 10 is equipped with plate glass 18 which is formed of tempered glass, an antenna 22 which is provided on the surface of the plate glass 18, and an ID chip 24 which is attached in such a manner as to be connected to the antenna 22 and which transmits identification information as an answer to a request from the outside by radio communication via the antenna 22. The reader 14 acquires the identification information from the ID chip 24 by the radio communication via the antenna 22. The notification device 16 provides notification of a hitch on the occurrence of the hitch in the acquirement of the identification information by the reader 14, when the acquirement request is issued from the reader 14 to the radio chip.
