TURBO DECODER AND TURBO DECODING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce memory capacity to be used for inner operation without losing decoding capacity in the case of decoding a turbo code by an MAP system or a MAX-LOG-MAP system. SOLUTION: A rear probability calculation part 103 stores information generated at the time of calculating rear probability necessary for the calculation of likelihood and stores rear probability which can not be reproduced by a rear probability reproducing part 106 out of the calculated rear probability in a rear probability calculation result storing memory 104. The rear probability reproducing part 106 reproduces the rear probability not stored in the rear probability calculation result storing memory 104 by using the information stored in the calculation contents storing memory 105 and provides the reproduced rear probability to a likelihood calculation part 108.
