PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch capable of reducing a noise generated when a key top is pressed. SOLUTION: A key switch 1 comprises a key top 2 that has a skirt 2b extended downward from the pressable outer periphery of an operation part 2a, first and second link members 3 and 4 which support the key top 2 for vertical movement, and a base plate 5 which supports the first and second link members 3 and 4. On the base plate 5, a buffer member 7 is provided which is a sound deadening means capable of reducing the collision noise generated when the key top 2 is pressed and lowered so that the lower end 2c of the skirt 2b collides.
