The core layers (6a, 6b) are placed one directly on the other and adhered together. Connecting edge profiles (3a, 3b) are formed on one (6b) core layer only. This is the layer not bonded to the top wearing surface (4). The panel is made from two parts (10a, 10b), the first with the top wearing layer, the second with the profiles (3a, 3b). One optional base layer (9) comprises a sound-absorbent material. The connecting profiles (3), mechanically-lock adjacent panels together when laid, by angling the panels or snapping them together horizontally. The panels lock together in both vertical and horizontal planes. They have two pairs of opposite sides (2, 2b), and interlocking profiles (3) are provided on both pairs. The adhesive (7) used to adhere the core layers together, is more elastic than the wooden material forming the core layers. |
