Method for data exchange between tractor and trailer

The method involves towing vehicle (1) and trailer (2), having sender or receiver modules (5,6) for wireless communication. The electronic systems (3,4) and the sender or receiver modules are connected with connecting line (10) by lines (15,16). The electronic systems contain a device, with which activation or deactivation of connecting line can be identified. With the initial start-up of the towing vehicle, the sender or receiver module of towing vehicle sends radio signal with identification. The electrical state of the connecting line is temporarily modified at the same time. Only those sender or receiver modules, which receive the radio signal of the module with the electronic system as well as the change in status of the connecting line, store the identification of electronic system sent by the sender or receiver module. For further data exchange, the sender or receiver module sends its respective information with upstream identification. Only those sender or receiver modules which have the same identification, pass on the received information to the associated electronic systems.
