METHOD FOR PREDICTING OUTCOME OF TREATING OBLITERATING ATHEROSCLEROSIS OF LOWER LIMBS

The method for predicting the outcome of treating the obliterating atherosclerosis of the lower limbs comprises the preliminary thyroid blockade by 5% solution of the stable iodine, the intramuscular injections of technecium-99m-pertechnetate into the gastrocnemius muscle. In gamma chamber, the initial and the residual activity of radiopharmaceutical agent are measured. Their difference provides for the basis for calculating absorption rate of radiopharmaceutical in the muscles. The data are processed, the function is plotted and analyzed. Prior to the assessment of the state of the vessels, the elimination coefficient for the isotope is calculated taking into account the number of the frames recorded at the beginning and at the end of the procedure.
