<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding structure of an illumination tube capable of easily mounting and holding the illumination tube thereto without breaking it and of surely continuously holding the illumination tube without dropping it even when impact is applied to it with the illumination tube held thereto. <P>SOLUTION: A lamp case 23 in a backlight unit 2 and a pair of catching projections 23b, 23b erected at predetermined positions of its bottom plate 23a are formed integrally with one another by using an elasticity-rich resin material; a curved tube part of a U-shaped cold-cathode tube 22 is elastically caught by elastically deforming the pair of catching projections 23b, 23b; a charging hole where tip parts of the pair of catching projections 23b, 23b face to each other is closed by a pressing member 25 formed of an impact cushioning material such as silicone rubber; and the drop of the caught U-shaped cold-cathode tube 22 is prevented without breaking it when impact is applied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
