PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing the rotor of a rotating machine which can improve machining accuracy of a rotor. SOLUTION: This method is a method of processing a rotor for cutting the external peripheral surface of a rotor 100 having a rotary shaft 116, a rolling bearing 120 in which an inner ring is pressed into the rotary shaft 116, pole cores 112 and 114 forced into the rotary shaft 116. In this method, the position of the outer ring of the rolling bearing 120 is set as a machining reference position, and the external peripheral surface of the rotor 100 is cut while maintaining a state where loads are applied to the inner and outer rings from opposite directions along the rotary shaft 116.
