PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AV system capable of displaying the setting status of an amplifying device on a display device, even when the amplifying device receives a video signal or a static image signal of digital system from a content-reproducing device. SOLUTION: An AV receiver 10 in an AV system 1 decides whether a video signal of a HDMI system is received from a DVD reproducing device 50 when the request for OSD display is received from a user. When it is decided that the video signal of HDMI system is being received from the DVD-reproducing device 50, the AV receiver 10 transmits an OSD request, including the setting status information to the DVD-reproducing device 50. The DVD-reproducing device 50 generates an OSD signaϕOS2 based on the setting status information, and outputs a mixed signal MIX, mixed with a DVD video signal DVS via the AV receiver 10, to a display device 200.
