PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system that can provide an image with a desired layout imaged by an imaging apparatus to a user, and to provide an imaging method. SOLUTION: The imaging system includes an imaging section; a layout storage section for storing a plurality of layouts of photographed images imaged by the imaging section; a plurality of position indicating sections for indicating the positions at which a principal object should be present, in order that the picked-up image with the layout stored in the layout storage section is to be imaged; and a layout-providing section for providing a layout of the photographed image imaged by the imaging section when the principal object is present at the position indicated by anyone of the position indicating sections by each of a plurality of the position indicating sections. The imaging section is fixedly installed at a prescribed position, and a plurality of the position instruction sections include a plurality of position display mark parts, drawn at positions at which the principal object is to be placed for each of a plurality of the layouts stored in the layout storage section.
