PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analog compressor whose threshold and ratio can be adjusted by one operator while being associated with each other in a proper relation and which is hardly influenced by a variation of characteristics of a variable gain amplifying circuit. SOLUTION: When the level of an input signal Vi exceeds the threshold, the level of the input signal Vi is compressed at a prescribed compression ratio and an output signal Vo is outputted. The compression ratio is controlled to a larger ratio as the threshold is made smaller by operating one variable resistor VR2 having an operation knob. In addition, a double variable resistor is used as the variable resistor VR2 and a variable resistor VR1 for adjusting an output gain and resistance values of the both are varied so as to be associated with each other to compensate a decrease in sound volume caused by a decrease in threshold.
