PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of an emulsion excellent in usability and detergency, whereby preservation stability of a solid particle is markedly improved. SOLUTION: In the preparation method of the emulsion, a water-soluble inorganic salt (d) and/or its aqueous solution (2) are added to and mixed with a mixture (1) containing a surfactant (a), a surfactant emulsifier (b) (other than the water-soluble polymer compound (e)) for emulsifying the surfactant (a), a hydrophilic powder (c) and a water-soluble polymer compound (e) to emulsify the surfactant (a), wherein a hydrophilic monomer-derived structural unit accounts for≥90 mass% of the molecule of the water-soluble polymer compound (e).
