REGENERATIVE HEATER FOR FILTER FOR COLLECTING EXHAUST GAS FINE PARTICLES OF INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of electrode contact part by exhaust gas and improve a durability of said contact part by a method wherein the electrode contact part in an electric heater for a regenerative filter is covered by a protective layer having a heat-resistant and corrosion-proof characteristic. CONSTITUTION:An electric heater 6 is operated such that some fine particles collected by a filter member are combustioned by a heating of the electric heater and the filter member is purified. The electric heater 6 is basically consisted of an insulative ceramic porous body 61 with honeycomb structure having several through-pass holes 62 partitioned by partition walls 61b, and the end wall of exhaust gas flowing part of the porous body 61 is formed with a thin film heater 64. In this case, the heater 64 is covered by a heat-resistant and corrosion-proof protective film 65. To the heater 64 is adhered an L-shaped electrode terminal 67 with a brazing material 66 through a nickel layer 63. The contacted part is covered by a protective layer 10 having heat-resistant and corrosion- resistant characteristics. Thereby, a durability of the adhered part made by said brazing material 66 is improved.
