PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of improving the leakage preventive properties by printing a pattern and making a wearer sure of the improvement of the leakage preventive properties to make the wearer at ease. SOLUTION: The absorbent article has a substantially vertically long absorbent body A comprising a front surface sheet 2, a rear surface sheet and an absorber 4 interposed between the sheets. A plurality of recesses recessed in the direction of thickness are formed in an outward area out of the absorber 4 on the skin contact face side of the absorbent body A, and ink is transferred to the bottom of each recess to make a printed part, and the pattern P is formed in the outward area.
